            This course supports principle of sustainable tourism, international efforts fostering sustainability in tourism, tourism management planning, stakeholder involvement, communication and involvement tools and practice of sustainable tourism. The purpose of the course is to provide insight into the relationship between tourism and the environment, highlighting the fact that tourism is a complex socioeconomic phenomenon, multidimensional in character, which has significant effects on the environment but dependent also on environmental quality. This course is intended for those working in the area of policy making, teaching or undertaking research in tourism, regional development and environmental protection.

            This module provides an introduction to the relationship between tourism and geography with a focus on geographical theories and factors pertaining to tourism. It provides overviews of fundamental tourism definitions and concepts. It focuses on how spatial patterns of modern tourism have evolved through time from regional to global geographies. The topics include tourism development and spatial change, tourism relation and understanding the spaces of tourism.

            This module will be providing students with physical geography, regional geography and socio-economic geography in Myanmar. The student will come to understand physical and regional and socio-economic geography from the geographical point of view.
